The man, dressed "better" for a photo shoot, had no idea he'd be photographed not in a nightclub or a business center, but on the ground in a park. Beauty and natural behavior are such incompatible concepts in our latitudes. It's not natural to lie on the ground like that, and I don't believe this shot is real. Staging may be possible, but not like this.

ega, oops... Excuse me. Is this the "I believe it! I don't believe it" club? I didn't mean to upset you so much... When I photographed this happy family, the last thing I thought about was whether anyone would believe me. I'll tell you more—I never thought about it and never will. What interests me in photos like these is something else. Are they happy? And now I know for sure that they are, yes, happy! And that girl, who's taller than everyone else:) She's definitely happier than most. I know that for sure:)
Until now, I thought people here were just showing what they saw and how. Now I think I was wrong...
A strange resource. The strangest on the entire internet. I understand my leg didn't fit in the frame. Yeah, my bad. It's silly to argue. But I believe it and I don't believe it. Now I'm even stunned, to be honest...

Strange resource.
Dmitry Yemelyanov! You've got that right...
...
And about this shot... For me personally, the emotional component of a photo is important...
which often "mutes" technical blunders and shortcomings...
There's emotion here. It's a living work. I like it

Dmitry Yemelyanov, I agree, the resource is more than a little strange, but that has nothing to do with the picture. I expressed my opinion (I just didn't put "IMHO" at the end), and my opinion has nothing to do with the resource. As for the picture, as a viewer, I'm not interested in the story behind the scenes; you, as someone who lived with this family all day, might know something about it. I'm only interested in the picture. I can put it another way. Technically, the intersection of the dad's face and the mom's hand is a flaw in the photographer. The sleeves of the dad's shirt and the toe of his shoe attract more attention than the mom's happy face. I can't see the girl's face, and only from your story can I know that she's "happier than most," which is strange to me; I never imagined that happiness has already been ranked and assigned a level.
Honestly, the family is happy, the photography is high-quality, the lens is good, and the product is commercially successful (meaning people will be happy to have such a shot in their family album). But this is a level you've long since reached, and people constantly tell you how wonderful and good everything is.

If my comment bothers you, I don't have to comment on your work anymore. But damn, don't you understand what I'm talking about? Haven't you seen the work of your American and English colleagues? I want more life, not the same old "happiness" shots from different photographers.

Of course, all this is "just my opinion."

ega, I've seen a lot. I'm watching. And I'll see more. But! There's a thing called mentality. American people, like the English people you mentioned as an example, they smile differently. I don't know what it's connected to... maybe life is different there. Unfortunately, I haven't been there myself yet. But I've been to a lot of places, both under the Soviet Union and after, across our vast country. I mean the USSR in general. And I'll tell you this. Our people show happiness differently. I look and see that it's different. Many Russians are recognized there simply by their smile:))). They, the bourgeoisie, are probably taught to smile in school:)). Or maybe even earlier. Now about this photo. I really don't like it when people pose for me in situations like the one in this photo. For this reason, I like to give people free rein and not interfere. That's why I often use long-range optics. By the way, I need to buy a 300-ku 2.0 for this. But I digress :). So, these people, they were simply happy with what was happening to them and how this little person, deeply loved by them, was happy about it. Here are their emotions, moms and dads. I didn't show the shot where the dad is holding his daughter in his arms and she is smiling widely. Maybe I should post stories. I don't know. When you wrote that you didn't believe me, I was a little taken aback... I thought, damn, maybe they are not sincere. I'm looking at my monitor. It's normal. I see happiness. What difference does it make what the dad is wearing? I don't see it. The man is dressed quite decently. Regarding your opinion and whether it bothers me. No, it doesn't. God forbid. It's entirely yours and without any rudeness. Why delete it? I don't understand why you're Russian. Mind you, not Russian, not Belarusian, not Ukrainian. But specifically Russian. I consider us all Russian. So that's why you don't believe me, I still don't understand. And I'm kind of stupefied. It would be a different matter if I were putting people on display. I spent a long time telling them how and what to do, how to smile, and then said: "A bird is about to fly out!" And they, dumbfounded, awkwardly and incomprehensibly pretended to be incomprehensible. I would have really understood. I'll say more, I wouldn't have shown such a photo. But shots like this, they're just alive. At least for me, that's for sure. It's hard for me to answer for others. Everyone has a different approach. I shared this shot just because I like it, just like the whole series. But I can't just post it frame by frame. :)))
Okay. It's starting to look like I'm making excuses, which I didn't really plan to do. I just showed how I saw them and, I think, pressed the button just in time.

But I agree about the branch (the one sticking out of dad's pants )

DenArt, I feel sorry for you if you think only expensive equipment can take good pictures. I'm very sorry. I think I'll end this conversation with you here. I'm not interested in talking to you after this.
greensk, I used a reflector, but I was far away. This would soften the light and not disturb people too much.
Olga Loiko, yes, the twig is just right. It's no longer in the original :)))
Thank you all so much for your opinions. I'm glad I can keep you on my page. Happy holidays! More positivity, more love, and happiness in the coming year!
